in the 100's here. And no AC in my apt or the school....they had had one but took it out last year...so we teach slow and steady but it is very uncomfortable. Seems I am the only prof who is willing to come in August. I wonder why? KBP

1030 your time...
Saturday August 16th, 2008 at 5:35pm
Slept in and have slept on and off most of the day...Natasha took me out for coffee, a Ukraine Starbucks...not bad. Also found a local flea market...today was Militaria day, found a former Russia/Ukrainia Navy/Marine dude....played me along until he found out I was former USMC...we spoke back and forth, he knew pretty good english...sold me his former Navy beret....we served at the same time 30yrs ago...I said one time we were enemies and now we are comrades..."DA, DA." Yes yes. So now I have a new hat for my collection. Pretty cool. Will be on an hr. Not on tomorrow....long day ahead. All is well. Good is God. Things are exciting though hard work. Next week the doctrine of providence. kbp

Tomorrow I have off...Sunday I will be on the road 4hrs going to different churches...will be fun but exhausting...probably won't be back on the net until Monday. Say hello to everyone. kbp

LOOONG day today...
Wednesday August 13th, 2008 at 11:30pm
Just made it here and it is 11:30PM my time which is about 6 or 7pm your time I think...had a good day at school but many questions and Pentecostal pastor wants me to help him plant Churches in Donetsk...met with him today and will again tomorrow after class so I will not get a chance to email you until late, if at all...Sunday will be a loooong day too. Was invited out to dinner at my translator's house and just got in...a good time but a loong day...but I did get to see some Olympics...we kicked butt, but my time is up.

about the service we had on Sunday and several were asking me questions. I had to be careful since this is not a Pentecostal school but rather a Reformed Presbyterian one...but I answered them as honestly as I could. This is a great school and wonderful students...all I want to do is help them grow in the Christian faith and not cause any confusion. I am having a meeting with the elders from the church that I preached at this Sunday. They wish to partner up with us at New Bethel and help them establish this church on a more solid foundation. I don't know what they have in mind but I will let you all know. I am preaching at a new church plant this coming Sunday and it is on the other side of town...it will take close to two hrs to get there by public transportation...needless to say it will make for a long Sunday...4hrs on the road. Oh well this is what I am called to do...and I wouldn't want it any other way. I am so happy that the church has sent me here. It is helping the Bible school and this local church. The students are very happy too. They can't believe that a church our size would have the money and even allow the pastor to come all the way to Ukraine to teach them. Conditions are fine...as good if not better than my trip to NJ. No AC, No TV, No BBC only Russian radio...but once I get home from teaching, eat dinner, come to the internet cafe and go back to my room, I crash...sunset about 7:30PM, Sunrise at 5AM. And since I am light sensitive, I am up at 5...makes for a full, long day....more later. The Preacher

Hey it is Monday 5:20PM here, about 10:20AM there.
Monday August 11th, 2008 at 10:28pm
All went well with the flight. Not many interesting people. Had two terrorist in front and behind me...two three yr olds... I didn't sleep a wink all the way from Chicago to Munich...napped some on way to Donetsk. But was up for about 36hrs before I was able to crash.
Went to two church services on Sunday. The wanted me at three different places next Sunday but no can do...had a great service at the Pentecostal Church...Preaching on Dancing...they wanted me to pray for people and I did...they never had people slain in the Spirit before...dropping like flies...no catchers...ah....finally had to train some of the men but it was too funny...one guy did a Sug...feel face forward on a hard wood floor with a "bang!" Wasn't hurt, doesn't remember it...I wasn't even touching most of the folks...you should have seen my translator Yana, she didn't know what to think. Ha...KBP

Pastor is off to the Ukraine.
Friday August 8th, 2008 at 3:38pm
I boarded at about 2:45pm and was off to Munich. He did mention to Dana about Georgia and Russia being at WAR not too far from Ukraine borders....and that he would lead the front....KBP
