New Bethel Assembly of God was started by a prayer meeting which was held at Medora Elementary school in 1971. As the meeting grew it changed locations and began holding services in the historic old Jones House. The house has been built in 1831 and was located at 4998 Valley Station Road. As the Church continued to grow under the guidance of it founding Pastor, David Busick, new facilities had to be built which is presently the home of New Bethel Church.
New Bethel has conducted various ministries in the past including city-wide bus ministry, clown & drama ministry for children and a shelter for the homeless. Over the years New Bethel has had its share of triumphs and challenges, its good times and sad times. The people of New Bethel have always been willing to try to do “whatever it takes” to reach people with the gospel of Jesus Christ.
The Church has had a succession of godly men who have served as Pastor down through the years; Men such as Pastors Busick, Lickliter, Boatman, Ryan, Campbell, Pagano and Weeks. They all have shared one thing in common and that is to build a fully functioning Christ Centered Church to see people live out their faith together.
